Our mission statement is "to motivate young people to become better citizens." This program helps prepare students for the next step after high school, whether that be college or the workforce. It gives students the chance to gain and strengthen leadership capabilities and confidence. Throughout the year, students will be learning how to command squads and platoons and will also learn a variety of other useful information such as: first aid, etiquette, how to handle finances and taxes, and how to get accurate research on different colleges and jobs. It is not to force students to join the military.

Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Wendell Harris is the district coordinator of military science and senior Army instructor for the 5th Brigade U.S. Army JROTC Program at Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas.
